What is a White Badge?
The Institute awards White, Green
and Blue Badges.

The White Badge is a qualification awarded
following successful examination on a site or walk.
·
The Green Badge examines a walk, a site, tour
planning and a particular town
·
The Blue Badge examines various tours, sites,
including panoramic coach tours over a large geographic area (such as
Yorkshire)
What will the Exam consist of?
The White Badge Exams will take
place in 2 parts
·
A practical exam on a specified tour
·
A 1 hour written exam - short answer questions]
You will also need to attend a 1
day Communications Seminar focusing on skills needed to present effectively
When will the course take place?
The course will take place on Wednesdays, Usually AM, but
sometimes PM and sometimes All day.

What will the course consist of?
26 hours of Lecture/classroom-based study
21 hours of Practical Study
1 day Communications seminar
2 -3 Hours private study per week
Do I need to have access to a computer?
Information will be distributed
to you electronically
We will try to be as ‘paper-free’
as possible, so you will need to print off any information you require hard
copy of
Will you be able to provide any written materials that are printed out
(such as Written Exam Papers) in Large Print Format?
Yes
How will information be shared?
We will ask Students to install
the free cloud storage service ‘Dropbox’
This is where information
relating to the course will be stored and shared
Help will be available for anyone
who requires assistance with this system
Where will the classes take place?
Practical session will take place
on the route of the Tour, but the majority of the Knowledge based sessions will
take place at Knaresborough House
