Elections in Knaresborough are managed by Harrogate Borough Council.
This year parish council elections was held across the borough on the 5 May 2002.
Due to recent changes to ward boundaries Knaresborough will move from having 3 wards to 4, each ward will be represented by 3 Councillors making a total of 12 members of the Town Council (previously 15).
