KNARESBOROUGH REMEMBRANCE SUNDAY
Sunday 8 November 2026
Residents and visitors are warmly invited to join us in commemorating Remembrance Sunday in Knaresborough.
Service at St John's Church
The church service will begin at 9.30am. Please arrive by 9.15am if you are attending. The service is expected to conclude at approximately 10.20am.
Remembrance Parade
The parade, led by the Knaresborough Royal British Legion Standard, will assemble on Station Road and set off at approximately 10.40am, making its way to the War Memorial in Knaresborough Castle Grounds.
War Memorial Service
The service at the War Memorial is scheduled to begin at 10.57am, including wreath laying.
To help the parade proceed safely, please keep clear of the route behind the castle courthouse museum, past the putting green, around the far side of the bowling green. We also ask that the area immediately in front of the memorial remains clear for the wreath laying ceremony and that veterans and serving members of the Armed Forces are given priority access close to the memorial should they wish to stand there.

Stewards and Marshals
Knaresborough Town Council and Knaresborough Revolution event marshals will be positioned along the parade route and throughout the Castle Grounds to assist attendees. Royal British Legion stewards will also be on hand and will distribute service sheets.
With Thanks
Our sincere thanks go to everyone involved in organising and supporting Knaresborough's Remembrance Sunday commemorations, including the Knaresborough Branch of the Royal British Legion, Knaresborough Town Council, Knaresborough Revolution, Knaresborough Silver Band, local cadet groups, Rev Garry Hinchcliffe and Churches Together, King James's School, and everyone who takes part in both the parade and the service at the War Memorial.
We look forward to coming together as a community to remember and honour those who gave their lives in service to our country.
