Special Arts Award
As a thank you to the Clerk of Knaresborough Town Council (KTC) for all the support given to the film company who recently spent several weeks in Knaresborough filming the much anticipated ‘Tinsel Town’, Knaresborough Town Council has been given £1000.
Since this money has come from the arts sector, KTC have decided that they’d like to give this money in the form of 10 x £100 Special Arts Awards to individuals or projects supporting art and creativity in our town.
We are asking residents to nominate people or projects who you think might benefit from or deserve a gift of £100; a little extra support to realise their creative ambition. Perhaps there’s a student you know who would really benefit from new arts materials, or someone working on your creative project and £100 would pay for some training or a specific course for them, a band who wants to print flyers, a drama group who want to hire a room for a few hours – the possibilities are endless. This award is open to individuals of all ages and any arts-based project or organisation.
We live in such a beautiful town that inspires so much creativity, and KTC hope that through these 10 Special Arts Awards we can celebrate and champion some of this creativity and the arts scene in a small way.
KTC will review the nominations and select 10 people or projects to receive a £100 Special Arts Award. The 10 selected nominees will be invited to attend an event where they’ll receive a certificate and the £100 Special Arts Award.
If there’s someone or a project you would like to nominate, please complete the form and return it to the clerk@Knaresboroughtowncouncil.gov.uk by 1st May 2025. The ten selected people or projects to receive the Special Arts Award will be notified by 9th May 2025 and invited to attend an awards ceremony (date to be confirmed).
