The last Friday in November has become better known as ‘Black Friday’. Bright Friday is Knaresborough’s antidote to this and marks the start of the town’s festive calendar of events. It is a celebration of light, positivity and community to reflect the true meaning of Christmas in our town.

We hope you will join us for Bright Friday on 29 November for the lantern workshop and parade, and then in the Market Place for the Christmas Lights Switch-on.

Lantern making workshop at Gracious Street Methodist Church from 4:30pm 

Light Parade setting off at 6pm from the war memorial in the Castle Grounds, to take our light to the Christmas Tree in the Market Place. 

Christmas Tree Lights Switch-on in the Market Place, event opens from 5:30pm with bands and choirs, Tree Lighting from 6:30pm once the Light Parade reaches the Market Place.
