I have been a Town Councillor for 4 years, re-elected in 2018 and it has and continues to be an honour to represent the Town both locally and internationally. During my Mayoral year I attended over 110 events and learnt many new things about Knaresborough; learning that very much influences the work I undertake as a Councillor today. Married to Catherine, we have 3 Children and 4 Grandchildren, my interests revolve around transport themes being keen to support the protection of our motoring and motorcycle heritage. I’m now retired and devote many hours to supporting the Community, particularly work to support the Voluntary Sector in Knaresborough.

I am a Town and Borough Councillor for the Knaresborough Castle ward, elected in 2018. I have lived on the Eastfield estate for seven years.

My priority is to make Knaresborough a better place to live and visit. I am involved in a variety of projects; to illuminate Knaresborough Castle, revitalise our High Street and improve air quality and congestion at Bond End through new junction improvements. I am a fan of Formula 1 motor racing and football. I also have an interest in tourism and aviation. Anyone with any concerns, no matter how large or small can contact me.

I have lived around Harrogate and Knaresborough for as long as I can remember, I attended King James School before going to university in Leeds and now work in Leeds for the Civil Service. I enjoy walking around Knaresborough, usually around the fields with my dog, or just sitting with a cup of tea and a book.

I moved to Knaresborough several years ago with my partner and we are proud to be now raising our two young children here.  A typical week for us includes visiting our town centre shops, a scoot round the castle grounds, and a trip to Knaresborough Library.  We don't own a car so you'll often see us walking around or using our great public transport.  My friend and I run the St John's Stay & Play playgroup and I am on the committee for Noah's Ark preschool.  Outside of community work I am a member of a local book group; I love gardening, and can often be found in our nearest bakery.

I have always lived in Knaresborough and have been a Town Councillor for 11 years.  With a good knowledge of planning procedures and an intimate knowledge of the town I feel I am useful to the Town Council.  I volunteer with Knaresborough in Bloom as well as Knaresborough Nidd Gorge Conservation Group and many other things, but still find time to enjoy cycling.

I have lived in Knaresborough for over 50 years and have a very good understanding of the area.  I attended King James's School as did both my children.  I was a governor at KJS and worked there for nearly 30 years.  I currently work at The Forest School where I am a governor.

At the moment I am working on a project to floodlight the castle and am involved in the new Community Land Trust in Knaresborough.  The town needs more affordable houses.

I have been a Town Councillor since 2003 and I have served as a councillor on Harrogate Borough Council since 2006.

I was born and brought up in Harrogate before moving to Knaresborough in 1964.  I qualified as a teacher both in Secondary and Further Education.  In my younger days, I was a guider with my own brownie pack.

In 1976 I commenced working at the local hospital and in 1987 changed roles and moved to the Royal Baths Hospital as a Voluntary Services Co-ordinator, introducing volunteers to the hospital environment.

For two years I was Chairman of the Special Care Baby Unit, Parent Support Group.   I have been a school governor, and serve on the Executive Committee of the Friends of Harrogate Hospital, raising funds to purchase items for the benefit of patients.

I am also working on the town council's Bright Friday WG, Office Services Cttee and the Emergency Response Group.

In 2009/10 I was very privileged to be elected Mayor of our wonderful town.

I have lived locally for the past 18 years and worked locally for the last 11, both in my own business and most recently as the Practice Manager of Stockwell Road Surgery. This has given me a very real understanding of the issues facing local residents and those of small independent businesses. Before that I worked as a company solicitor, having gained my Law degree at Leeds University more years ago than I care to remember.

I am a massive advocate of Knaresborough and am committed to working with the local community to protect its economic viability, revitalise the High Street and put Destination Knaresborough on the map once more. I am chair of Renaissance Knaresborough, a local voluntary organisation looking at initiatives for Knaresborough, including the Cliff Lift Project.

In my down time I love walking my white boxer dog (if you see me around town please say hello!) and socialising with friends.
